Primary School Teachers Fail English Test In Delta

  No fewer than 16 primary school teachers within Asaba and its environs in Delta State, last Thursday failed the use of verb "hit" in past, present and continuous tense in their various classrooms when officials and commissioner of the State's Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education paid them an unscheduled visit. What appeared to be a mild drama gripped the officials including the commissioner in four of the schools (names withheld) visited where the teachers bungled in the use of verb "hit" to make complete present, past and continuous tense statements. The teachers (names withheld) goofed when they told their students: "hit, hitting, hitten", which triggered uproarious laughter among the ministry officials including the students who observed their teachers goof. World Egg Day, Poultry Farmers Association Donates Eggs, Books and Biros To School

Research: Girls Who Text Perform Woefully In School

Experts found compulsive use of smartphones to send messages significantly impacts on academic performance.  And girls are much more vulnerable than boys. The most frequent texters did 34 per cent worse at school, compared to those that used their phones the least. For boys, the difference was much smaller - just eight per cent between those who messaged constantly and not at all. U.S. researchers looked at the texting habits of 403 schoolkids, aged 13 to 17. Around three fifths texted daily, while just under two fifths used their mobile phones for voice calls.  But only girls did dramatically worse at school the more they messages. Hafiz Abubakar : Kano State To Establish More JAMB CBT Centers

Kano State deputy governor professor Hafiz Abubakar is now the acting governor has set up a steering committee for the establishment of more JAMB Computer Based Test Center in the state. Inaugurating the committee in his office, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar said the establishment of the center became necessary in order to give state candidates opportunity to partake in the examination as prescribed by the JAMB. Kano State Government Introduced Summer Camp Scheme For Child Pupils

In its efforts to promote girl child education Kano State Government has introduced summer camp scheme for girls pupils. This was made known by the Deputy Governor and commissioner education Prof. Hafiz Abubakar while inspecting the programme at Kanti Primary School in Bichi. He said the programme etails giving special training to girl pupils during holidays in order enhance their learning capacity. Prof Abubakar who lamented the backwardness of the state in female education expressed Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje administration's determination to reverse the situation.
