Hafiz Abubakar : Kano State To Establish More JAMB CBT Centers

Kano State deputy governor professor Hafiz Abubakar is now the acting governor has set up a steering committee for the establishment of more JAMB Computer Based Test Center in the state.

Inaugurating the committee in his office, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar said the establishment of the center became necessary in order to give state candidates opportunity to partake in the examination as prescribed by the JAMB.

A statement issued by the Director of Press to the Acting Governor, Usman Bello Quoted Prof Hafiz Abubakar saying that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was very much committed in ensuring no Kano indigence missed the exam due to lack of center.

The Acting governor disclosed that government has already acquired 5000 computers for the establishment of new centers and upgrading the existing ones to meet the JAMB extermination requirements

The acting governor said the new centers will be strategically spread across the state in order to ease difficulties of the state students sitting for the JAMB exterminations.

Prof Hafiz Abubakar tasked the committee to work assiduously towards establishing the centres within the limited time available in order to get JAMB’s accreditation/approval before the commencement of the examination.

He said his door is always open to them for consultation and support towards the actualization of the project.

Prof hafiz Abubakar noted the 14 centers used last year are inadequate in terms of capacity and number in view of new JAMB policy that each center must have a minimum of 250 computers with 10% backup, a server, serviceable power generating set, Local area connectivity and 5 technical personnel.

The committee is to be headed by the director of IT of the ministry of education Ahmed Jibril
