FALCAO'S GRANDMOTHER CRITICISES MOURINHO

When she was asked to explain Falcao's inability to replicate the performances he showed before his cruciate ligament injury in January 2014, Dona Denis King Garcia told El Universal: "I do not understand what happened. "After the injury he suffered last year before the World Cup he has tried to return and has played some good matches; but I also think the coaches he has worked with have not been explicit with him.  "You have to show confidence in him because that is the only way he can return to what he used to be [before his injury]. "At first he was used a lot, but after that he has been used very little; in those 10 or 15 minutes he's being given he can't do anything. "And so it is very difficult for him. You have to give him more time to do what he does best."

Mourinho handed a suspended one-match stadium ban, and a £50,000 fine By FA

The Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been handed a suspended one-match stadium ban, and a £50,000 fine, for comments made after Chelsea's defeat toSouthampton, in which he criticised the officials for not awarding his side a penalty. Mourinho claimed that referees were "afraid to give decisions to Chelsea" after seeing his side beaten 3-1, and effectively dared the Football Association to issue him with a punishment.  He said: "The result 1-1 is a huge penalty and once more we don't get and a penalty is a crucial moment in the game with the result at 1-1, and I repeat that if FA wants to punish me they can punish me, they don't punish other managers but they punish me, it's not a problem for me." Mourinho has now been given a suspended ban after admitting to a charge of breaching FA rules, with the governing body warning the Portuguese that the suspension will be invoked if he is punished for a similar breach again.  A statement from the ...

Manchester United are Title contenders - Sir Alex Ferguson

The former Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson told ESPN if Manchester United can stay in the hunt until the new year, they'll have a chance. He said: "It's that kind of league, anyone can win it now. "Leicester are the most consistent, they've only lost one game. If we get to New Year up near the top, we'll have a good chance." Ferguson accepts Van Gaal is facing an uphill battle to get his team to gel after signing 12 new players over the last two summers. But he says if Anthony Martial can have the same impact as Dwight Yorke did in his first season United will get close. Yorke scored 29 goals in 51 games in 1998/99 following his move from Aston Villa as United won the treble. Ferguson added: "He has certainly made a lot of changes and he's bought new players this year and, I think, five or six new players the year before. "That takes time and it's not easy. Coming to Manchester United, you do need time. In m...

Fergie Talks on Rooney's form.

In an interview with the Former Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson, he told ESPN that "All the strikers I had, everyone relied on their confidence," "When they were scoring they think they can never stop, when they're not scoring they think they're never going get a goal, it's a fact.   "When I was a striker I was the same; my dad used to say make sure you hit the ball, don't try and pass it in the net. "Eric Cantona had it, (Ruud) van Nistelrooy had it, (Andy) Cole had it and then the rich stream comes along again and they're back to normal. "I think we'll have to wait, it'll happen. (Rooney will) go on a run, don't worry about that." Rooney is expected to be back soon from injury.

KOEMAN: MOURINHO MUST LEARN FANTASTIC FOOTBALL FROM WENGER

Koeman believes Chelsea's tactical approach of retreating after taking the lead rather than going for the opposition's jugular doesn't work in their favour, and hit out at Mourinho for relentlessly moaning about officiating. "Chelsea prefer to defend when attacking is also an option," he is quoted as saying in theSunday Mirror. "Mourinho always chooses to defend. Even if his team goes 1-0 up, they would rather defend their lead than try to score more goals. "Yet Arsenal can kill an opponent. That is why their victory against Manchester United was so impressive. "Attacking-wise, they completely destroyed United. For 20 minutes, they played the most fantastic football, while Chelsea do the opposite thing. "By defending, Chelsea give their opponent a chance to come back in the game. It was a shame that Mourinho was putting attention on the referee after we beat them. "He wanted to have a penalty in the first half. But, in the first half at St...
