WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY

**Governor Masari became engrossed in Federal University Dutsin-ma's Saga**
It's no longer news that, the issue of several allegations and gross misconducts are the newsworthy subjects circulation all relevant social medias, generally in Katsina Metropolis and Dutsin-ma Local Government in particular.
Although, these allegations were known and are believed to be true. But because of selfish interests best known by the past Federal and State administrations, all efforts to address the said issue is in vain.
Reputative by Katsina Slogan that "Ta Dikko Dakin Kara, Kunya Gare mu ba Tsoro ba" some groups of Concern Citizens of Katsina State, Concern Indigenes of Dutsin-ma L.G and as well the Katsina State Coalition for Good Governance, teamed up to bring the matter to the deadliest end.
Marred by the Nigerian Police's effort in thwarting the teaming groups to hold a Town-Hall meeting scheduled to address these issues to Press and other relevant stakeholders'. The groups felt triggered and were forced to hold their meeting in secrecy, with hundredth of youths in attendance.
However, the determined youths went ahead and meet with the State Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari in his office; in the sunny hours of Monday, 28th Sept., 2015.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari was shocked to listen to the complaints reads by the concerned youths and promised to take apt actions immediately.
Speaking at the meeting, the Governor was up in arms as to why Police whom responsibility was to serve and protect with integrity, will foiled the youth's intention of staging a Peaceful Demonstration.
The Governor's words, "Well, we were just discussing Dutsin-ma, just now. Because I received a text message about a plan of peaceful demonstration, I also received a report from the security agencies about the same thing, that Concerned Citizens are planning to have a peaceful demonstration against the activities of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-ma………"
"Simply, we do not see the reason of stopping people from staging a peaceful demonstration. It is the responsibilities of Security Agencies to provide SECURITY COVER for those who are protesting……." (echoed by loud of applauds)
"Also I believed, things should be done rightly and correctly. If the figures given by you are correct, if the information given by you is correct; then honestly there is a serious problem, more than the problem that we were told…….."
"We will therefore respond to this accordingly and immediately………"
"Also, we cannot and we'll not under any circumstances fold our arms to be strangers in our own community. It's unacceptable to us,…….so we have a duty and responsibility to ensure that what is due to Katsina is given to Katsina….."
"And I hope the letter you've written, with it you write a covering letter to the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission and to all agencies of the Government that are responsible for making sure that justice is done to the people of Katsina State and the people who the University are meant to serve, i.e the Catchment Areas…."
"It's unfortunate that the Vice Chancellor chose to behave the way he is behaving,…… even if the previous Government told him to do what is right……..what is right here is 40%, 30% and 30%........"
"The foundation of the admission are the senior lecturers, HODs, Deans and the Council of the University….I wonder how the composition of the University's Council being?..........."
If people could remember, the University recently released its first list admission of 2015/2016 academic session, with 701 slots. With Sokoto, Zamfara and Kano which are among the catchment States getting 00, 02 and 15 slots respectively. States like Benue, Kogi, Oyo, Imo and Kwara that are not even among the catchment States getting 80, 40, 40, 29 and 40 respectively.
The determined youths in their letter to the Chairmen of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board and National Universities Commission called for the immediate change and reverse of the admission, as stipulated by its acts.
We will keep mum and tight-lipped because we want peace and harmony to prosper. And we hope, with President Muhammadu Buhari at the top of it, things will get better in time.

An N2.4 million bribery scam is rocking the Delta State House of Assembly. SaharaReporters learned that the Speaker, Monday Igbuya, and other members of the State House of Assembly allegedly collected N200,000 bribes from the twelve commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for “screening.” Confiding in a SaharaReporters correspondent, a senior management staff person of the State’s House of Assembly who did not want to be named disclosed that one of the commissioner nominees told him in confidence how the twelve nominees’ arms were twisted to pay N200,000 each. The ultimatum was that without the N200,000 none of them would be cleared by the lawmakers. However, the source said, “If you were around during their screening on the floor of the House, you would have noticed that all the nominees were only told to take a bow” and to go. An aide to one of the commissioners who pleaded anonymity confided in SaharaReporters that the money was definitively give...

EFCC Arrested NAFDAC DG

Two weeks after whistleblowers at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) wrote a powerful petition to President Muhammadu Buhari alleging monumental fraud and waste of funds by its Director-General, Dr. Paul B. Orhii, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday swung into action. We live like rats, yet Nigerians want us to be their friends –Policemen

He was drenched with sweat by the time he wriggled himself through the narrow entrance of his room into the passageway. Looking very depressed and drowsy that Thursday afternoon, he dragged himself along the hole-ridden passage and collapsed into the rickety sofa beside the staircase that leads to the upper floors in one of the buildings in the barracks. With frustration written all over his face, Emma Uden (not real names), a sergeant in the police, kept muttering to himself, but dosed off few minutes later. Apparently disturbed by the music blaring in his neighbourhood, Uden could not but open his eyes feebly and intermittently. His pain was obvious to anyone who came across him, but the reason for his frustration was largely unknown. However, as Uden would later tell our correspondent in a conversation he grudgingly consented to, since the apartment allotted to him in the barracks collapsed in June last year, he and his family had been living in the kitchen...
