Supremacy Contest: Khalifa Dikwa, The Best Choice As Minister, Borno State - Ahmed Nabil

The Yes and No in the spirit of choice and progress by President Muhammadu Buhari germinate the seed of reality and doubts. The debate, however, must reassure and demonstrate to us the value of truth, teamwork and ethics, as he is about to release the names of those listed after screening. If we are to escape the agony and devastating effect of having slim shoulders in the political karate and judo against indiscipline in this clime, it will be very hard to express how Nigeria must trace her tibia, fibula and good leadership if we decide to delete “merit” to satisfy our pernicious view without enough progress to celebrate after starting the polka dance and beat Nigerians hoped, clamored and prayed for. If we can take it as a clue on how we can overcome the “rust and dust” we suffered, that drained the existing mode that slapped our jaw, we must start believing the ice cube and Hawaiian offered by merits, not chance. I don’t believe it is hard to separate “power” and “trust”, when truth is defending the truthful, and faith, defending the faithful. Professor Khalifa Dikwa, professor of political science, linguist, public speaker and public affairs analyst, is a symbol of truth and diligence commanding praise.
His exceptional abilities, virginal ideas, understanding and pragmatic approach that represent the heart of good leadership and selflessness are quite impressive , interesting and impeccable. “Calling for the best, is checking for the best”, part of the tweets I shared few days ago.
The time we believe it is not possible to achieve peace without truth that is when we can trace the juice of good leadership and justice. Who will carry the day when it is very dark? Or when will the best archer squeeze the perk of the rook he planned to preserve without bow?
The third wave of democracy as described will come as evidence when we must have defined our value. Changing the failed system even as Integrity is speaking for President Buhari will never actualize to that change we wished, clamored and prayed for, when his team operate under the cloaks of doubts and collusion in the manufacture of social misery. A theory forming part of the missed can be viewed as transition after sixteen years of transaction. The political battles, however, is a simple review of the mischief and dribbling representing our political skills pushing and pulling the weight of our political strength and collusion. I can’t stop now – I’m a bit pressed for time, but I’ll press myself back to ensure the wheel is with the best drivers not those with the wheel key. This is because the essence of changing the failed system is not just about parade, but packing the junks distracting the conscience of justice and truth, to further establish the parameters by which we define a Nigerian beyond the provisos of birth, paper certificate, ethnic or political qualifications for the purpose of the chaos sparking. As would be expected, a lot of speculations are flying around.
Without mincing words, it will not be strange to appreciate the fact that justice is the backbone of good leadership, even as this virtue is cheap and not lucrative in our politics today. However, one thing that is very obvious about the voice of justice is the fact that it is not natural to fight against justice even though it is getting normal and rife. But the fact is, darkness will never rule when there is light. Majority can be minority, if the views of minority replace the other with reasonable measures. The fact that millions believe stealing is not corruption that is not an excuse to justify it. As matter facts, integrity is not enough without teamwork. The battle between the conscience of that spirit of justice and truth must be served, as injustice anytime is a threat to justice all the time. The root without stem can never form a tree. Likewise, the face of good leadership is in the “process” of good leadership. The process of good leadership must be served with diligence, teamwork and ethics.
One piece of candid advice for good leaders and government to embrace is; “corruption from the root, is corruption from the top.” This is an indication that corruption is gaining impetus when it is tampered with weakness, complacent minds, political laxity and other forms of endemic corruption terrorizing this blessed land.
As I wrote in a recent column, “the beauty of election is in the beauty of good selection”. The meaning of election, not literally, means good selection, as its main aim is to develop the land, not just about changing authorities as many believed election is all about that. I’ve reiterated this several times that “integrity doesn’t have market value, as its only value is truth”. It is a virtue not wish. It takes integrity to earn dignity. If integrity is all about wish, many in the world would have wished to embrace it, and they’ll have got it, but that is not so. Many admire it, but indulgence, self-interest and indolence will never make them have it. Preserving truth is not hard, but the dark force of evil is making it so. Moreover, ‘vast differences among people are in the realm of character, not anatomy”.
To exercise the rational faculty or to reach conclusions by a systematic comparison of facts, is about diligence not just desire. There is a saying that - “we think of water when the well is empty, likewise, we must think of good leaders when corruption continue to kick our short tarsals. Calling yourself a patriot is meaningless, but the passion which inspires one to serve one’s country is the issue.
How skilled is our thinking?
Are we still nurtured by self-interest or public interest?
All these are relevant questions we must ask ourselves. I observed what I needed most is thinking beyond myself , and I followed that up; “by thinking beyond myself, I discovered significance”, As Clark noted. Professor Khalifa Dikwa is not just part of the change team, but a limelight and solution if approved as minister. To wish for change will change nothing, until we change the failed system. The American inventor Charles Kettering wrote - “The world hates change, yet it is only the thing that has brought progress”. Yes, of course. They relish the spectacle of accepting the otherwise, though it is the fact. I don’t believe the failed system will change when we, Nigerians failed. What we discuss is how to harvest our selfish ego, partisan sentiments and illusion that scraped our thoughts. Professor Khalifa Dikwa understanding and pragmatic approach to defining political matters is quite scintillating, stupendous and commendable. His versed, apt and deep understanding of politics and social matters is a challenge to the failed system calling for the best, skilled and competent like him. His extraordinary eye, mission and vision to explore virginal ideas and commitment is something of plus mark to our democratic system, maintenance and mode. “The saber of truth will explain to us what injustice can never allow us understand”. As confirmed, “no matter how the rain beats the skin of the leopard, it can never wash the spots", a proverb. The theme ‘supremacy contest’ is by merits, not chance. It is not what we wish that we get, but what we deserve. Gone are the days of jingoism, nepotism, egoism and sadism. Democracy embracing meritocracy is the best of all. Competition is part of the beauty of democracy, and the competent, reasonable, vibrant, brave and selfless, however, are the best leaders. The beauty of democracy can never be influenced using money, fame or power, but with selflessness, equality and ethics.
The time we begin to understand that truth and justice must be relevant as we direct our political wheel, that is when we’ll start to trace the meaning of leadership, not power, fame or influence as many defined it to be so, forgetting that the leader of the nation is the servant. Sadly, before now, the leaders were the oppressors, vandals, hoodlums, creeps and salamanders that paralyzed the wish of the poor and average for personal gains and national superiority. The leaders then, were servants, humble and simple. But now, they are semi gods, too special, precious, egoists, powerful to oppress , with foreign accounts, riding posh cars with expensive Banbarigas, buying skyscrapers, flying all over the world with public funds, when the poor, homeless and jobless survive and live in warehouse, under bridge and streets. Certainly, time will explain, when it is the right time for time to explain. Truth will speak for the truthful, and faith, the faithful, as the wheel of doubts and injustice transform its value, heritage and stance. History will explain, just as posterity will learn from it.

BUHARI: TURNING APPOINTMENTS INTO DISAPPOINTMENTS

By Jaafar Jaafar Ponder over this Hausa proverb: “sawun keke ba’a gane gabanka”, which roughly translates to “a bicycle’s contact patch does not tell where it comes from or where it heads to”, and see how it aptly describes Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari. Bearing in mind the current realities in our polity, how would you, in your wildest dream, think the Secretary to the Government of the Federation will come from the North? The very North that has a President, a Senate President, a Speaker, a Head of Service, a Chief of Staff, a Chief Justice, and what not? While Mr. President is likened to the proverbial “sawun keke”, the pigmentation of his appointments may be likened to “birgimar hankaka”, literally meaning the wallow of a pied crow. When a pied crow wallows, the Hausa say, you will see both the white patch on its gullet and the black plumage that covers most of the bird’s body. In the appointment of the GMD of NNPC, President Buhari showed Nigeria...
