Government To Embark On Youth Empowerment To Mitigate The Hardship Of Our Youths - Comrade Mahmud Muhammad

Youth empowerment is an attitudinal, structural, and cultural process whereby young people gain the ability, authority, and agency to make decisions and implement change in their own lives and the lives of other people, including youth and adults.

Youth empowerment is often addressed as a gateway to intergenerational equity, civic engagement and democracy building.

Government should embark on youth empowerment so as to mitigate the hardship of our teeming youths. This could be done by rehabilitating the vulnerable ones, creating jobs, providing programs centered on youth empowerment so as to mitigate/eradicate the poverty.

May I use this prestigious avenue of communication to call on the sympathetic Governor, the Governor of Youths, the Governor of mercy and the listening governor His Excellency Gov. Kashim Shettima to quickly embark on the aforementioned proposals of programs through the Ministry of YOUTHS empowerment and poverty alleviation otherwise known as Ministry of poverty alleviation and youths empowerment.

Your Excellency Sir, this is inline with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) agenda as adopted by the members of the delegation in the world Youths Day celebration.

State House of Assembly collected bribes from commissioner nominees

An N2.4 million bribery scam is rocking the Delta State House of Assembly. SaharaReporters learned that the Speaker, Monday Igbuya, and other members of the State House of Assembly allegedly collected N200,000 bribes from the twelve commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for “screening.” Confiding in a SaharaReporters correspondent, a senior management staff person of the State’s House of Assembly who did not want to be named disclosed that one of the commissioner nominees told him in confidence how the twelve nominees’ arms were twisted to pay N200,000 each. The ultimatum was that without the N200,000 none of them would be cleared by the lawmakers.
