It was reported that an ongoing church service was disrupted as masquerades flogged pastors along with worshipers in Akure Ondo State of Nigeria, this result in injuring two pastors in the church.
Police source said that the masquerades attacked the Christ Apostolic Church in Epinmi Akoko town while the service was on-going and abruptly ended it.
However, one of the masquerades, Tunde Arohunmolase was arrested while others fled after committing the atrocity.
Police detectives are investigating the reason for the attack of the church by the masqueraders during the service. Two of the Pastors injured were Jacob Ogunmola and Kehinde Ilori and have been treated.
According to Vanguard, that when the masquerades arrived the church premises they were challenged by some of the church workers, but they reportedly overpowered them and went straight for their target as other worshipers fled leaving the Pastors , their attackers reportedly had a field day dealing with them.
The Police Spokesman added that one of the suspect, Tunde Arohunmolase is in Police custody and has made useful statement. He assured that the fleeing masqueraders would soon be arrested from their hideouts.
